If you think a Rotary club is meant for afternoon pints, fancy shmancy talk, charity buckets and serves as a pit-stop after retirement, you've pretty much missed the mark.

And you've missed the mark by a long shot!

To begin with, it's one of the world’s most prestigious service organisations. Made up of committed individuals, known as Rotarians, who volunteer and work together to help their local communities and those in need, worldwide.

1.2 million strong. 35,000 clubs in over 200 countries. And at the forefront of globally eradicating Polio - one of the most disabling and life-threatening disease caused by the poliovirus.

A diverse and multicultural family of friends across the world who discuss their community’s needs and develop creative ways to meet them. Their oath? Service above self.

Rotary North East covers the area from the Scottish Borders in the north, to the North Yorkshire border in the south, and to The Pennines in the west. Within this region there are Rotarians volunteering their time to address challenges at home and abroad, but particularly seeking to improve the lives of those in their local communities.
